We bring you 3 reasons why right now is a great time to travel:

1) Less crowds - less risk

It is only a matter of time before people will start visiting the most popular tourist spots in the world again, so this is now a unique opportunity to visit your desired destination and avoid big crowds.

Whether you opt for a classic summer vacation on the beach or wish to visit a larger urban city, social distancing is much easier to maintain now since most tourist places are quite empty.

However, the easiest way to ensure safe social distancing is to choose destinations that offer plenty of space and outdoor activities, such as forests, national parks, beaches, lakes, rivers and oceans.

In addition, it is an invaluable experience to travel to Paris and visit the Louvre without waiting in line or sunbathe on the most beautiful Greek beaches, which were once full of tourists, but are now just waiting for you.

2) There is a lot more caution

Existing precautions and guidelines from the competent authorities and the World Health Organization significantly reduce the risk of spreading the virus.

Airports and airlines, as well as hotels, restaurants, museums and other public places, are trying to significantly minimize the risk of infection. Intensive cleaning and disinfection are now the norm everywhere, air quality in airplanes is actually really good thanks to HEPA filters, accommodations are cleaned and booked in accordance with new rules, hand disinfectants are available almost everywhere.

Also, measuring body temperature has become a common practice, with some destinations requiring proof of a negative test on Covid-19 or testing passengers on arrival.

All in all, with responsible behavior and adherence to all recommended precautions, the risk of infection is very low.

3) A dream service

As tourism has taken such a hit in recent months, people working in the tourism industry are doing everything they can to provide guests with the best possible experience, hoping for them to come back and pass on the news of great service to their friends.

At most tourist destinations you can currently experience top 5-star service for an unusually low price, from accommodation to dinner at a restaurant.

Many destinations such as Greece, Italy and Spain have also reduced air ticket prices, while Cyprus has promised to cover the cost of holidays for tourists who catch the virus during their stay in the country. The Mexican city of Cancún offers free hotels, meals and a variety of tickets to attract tourists, while in Barbados they are introducing a 12-month Barbados Welcome Stamp, which gives international visitors the opportunity to work remotely on the island for up to a year.

All in all, travel is good for our mental health and self-confidence, but in the current situation, it requires new protocols. If you are traveling, be responsible, monitor the situation in the country you want to visit, follow all recommended measures and be careful to protect yourself and others.
