Q&A with Marko Guček
What do you think differentiates GoOpti from the rest of the well-known transportation solutions?
The unique advantage of GoOpti's technology is in fact its ability to provide a transportation solution that is profitable when other transport options fail. For example; rural areas with a lower fluctuation of passengers are prone to be excluded from the routes with public transport or large transportation systems like FlixBus and Uber. People living in those areas are therefore dependent on their cars. GoOpti’s new transportation business model brings a favorable solution to tackles the transportation issues in those areas by introducing the optimization algorithms, that pool people in vehicles based on their departure time flexibility and routing preferences. Beside that, GoOpti has integrated the smart revenue management pricing based on self-learning probability models, which allow us to execute the transportation in a profitable way also on less frequently traveled routes, at a lower cost than the cost of public transport, but with the same comfort and flexibility of a personal car.
What will be GoOpti’s contribution to the conference?
I will be speaking about how did we managed to connect cities to airports, offering the same comfort and flexibility as a personal car at the cost of a bus ticket. Here I will also give some insights about the platform and reveal how we managed to be profitable on routes where no one else is profitable. We believe that GoOpti’s technology can change the future of travelling. From replacing short haul flights, resolving the mobility problems in rural and urban areas, to encouraging people to make their cars redundant also in less populated regions.
What is GoOpti’s next big move – plans for the future?
We are now present in 8 countries (Italy, Austria, Spain, Germany, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Hungary), with more than 800 vehicles and 29,000+ passengers per month. With the expansion to several European countries, GoOpti is pursuing its vision to make the world a bit more accessible by providing the best in class service and become a better choice than a personal car. Our future is focused on further development and expansion of our network. We are pleased to receive cooperation proposals from many different European countries, like Poland, Switzerland, Luxembourg and France, as well as from other countries in the world - from Canada, Argentina, Australia and India.
