Balos Beach

The famous Balos beach is located on Crete Island. It’s an Instagrammer’s dream – especially from the viewpoint on the way down to the beach. You can admire the unique turquoise sea surrounded by white sand and little white flecks of pink from crushed shells. The entire beach and its surroundings are a protected Natura 2000 area. There are hundreds of fascinating plants, flowers and intriguing birds to watch for.

But bear in mind that it tends to be overcrowded in summer.

Porto Katsiki is without a doubt one of the best beaches in Lefkada with huge vertical cliffs and breathtaking panoramic views. It is located far away from most villages so it is a very popular place to visit by boat.

St. Paul’s Bay is located on the south-eastern side of Rhodes Island, next to the charming village of Lindos.

The bay consists of two smaller beaches, surrounded by big rocks. Both of them are very intimate and equally lovely, so it makes little difference which one you choose. The waters are shallow, warm and crystal clear, so this little bay is ideal for swimming and snorkeling.

On one side of the bay stands a chapel dedicated to Saint Paul which is often chosen as a wedding venue.

Navagio Beach

Visiting Navagio Beach is definitely the highlight of vacation on Zakynthos. Shipwreck Beach, known locally as Navagio Beach, is popular because of a shipwreck on its shore.

It is believed that the ship was smuggling cigarettes when the Greek Navy started chasing it in bad weather. The crew ditched the boat in Navagio cove to try and get away. Ever since the crash in 80s, it’s the ship has been slowly falling apart.

Today, the shipwreck, white sands, imposing cliffs and clear water make this beach truly one of a kind.

Even though the beach is only accessible via boat, it can get very crowded in high season. But you can also admire this stunning beach from the platform and trails up on the cliffs.

Mylopotamos Beach

There is no doubt that Greek islands have tones of beautiful beaches, but you can find some perfect ones also in the mainland. One of such is Mylopotamos Beach in the Pelion.

You’ll have to climb down a number of steps to get to this beach, but the shadow of pine trees that surround the bay makes the walk much easier.

The beach is divided into two zones with a passage between them in the form of an arch in the rock. It is very small, only two hundred meters long, but very popular, especially between active tourists. There are a lot of hidden caves in the coastal cliffs that can be explored by canoe.
